Research Experience:

 

 

Laboratory Skills for clinical pathology department where the main interests directed for molecular diagnosis of infectious diseases, hematological investigation (hematology), Organ function investigation (biochemical analysis of function for different organs in both health and disease conditions), serological and Molecular diagnosis of many disease condition including using of viral and bacterial isolation of causative agent as well as indirect immunodiagnosis.

 

Application of some molecular techniques polymerase chain reaction and DNA probes, RAPD, AFLP, RFLP, SSCP, and DDGE.

 

** Master thesis Was titled by : Studies on foot and mouth in Goats. Where a detailed molecular and serological diagnosis were applied. ( virus isolation, serum neutralization, and Polymerase chain reaction as a diagnostic tools applied for disease condition evaluation). Hematological and biochemical parameters was measured.

 

** PhD   thesis   was titled by: Clinicopathological studies on bovine herpes virus type 1 among calves. where a detailed molecular serological and isolation of virus ( Application of FA technique, virus isolation, serum neutralization, polymerase chain reaction and DNA hybridization techniques.) The changes in both hematological and biochemical analysis of blood and serum of infected cases were studied.

  

** Research interests after PhD: was directed to the area of molecular biology and application of diagnostic assays that concerning many bacteria (Brucellosis, Tuberculosis, corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis and clostridium spp.) and many viruses (as Bovine leucosis, ephemeral fever, bovine herpes and Bovine viral diarrhea virus). Our interests were directed for DNA mutation and its effect as tool for vaccine production special interest to PLD gene of coryne pseudotuberculosis.

 

Research fields:-

 

1-                        Application of molecular techniques that could be used for diagnosis of any micro-organisms by using: Polymerase chain reaction , DNA hybridization. RAPD, AFLP, RFLP, SSCP, and DDGE .

 

2-                        Application of gene clonining   and expression of recombinant protein (restriction digestion, ligation, bacterial transformation, expression purification of proteins) used for vaccination or diagnostic purposes.

 

3-                        Application of electrophoresis either for proteins, (cellulose acetate electrophoresis, and polyachrylamide: serum, HB, body fluids, antigens) and agarose gel electrophoresis for DNA techniques.


 

 

4-developing and maintenance of primary and secondary tissue culture for different tissue culture application

 

5-      Serological evaluation of serum antibodies, tumor marker and serum hormones.

 

6-     Serological evaluation of infectious agents for many disease with special interest to those manipulated in my different researches such as Bovine leukosis, BVD, FMD, BHV-1, Brucella, Tuberculosis, and Corynabacteria,    

 

7-    Hematology (counting blood, HB estimation , PCV, TLC , DLC Bone marrow examination, LE cell , platelets count, coagulation parameters measurement)

 

8-    Organ functions ( evaluation the performance degree for liver, kidneys, Pancreas, Stomach and intestine, lung , heart and muscles).
